Lash Lifts - A Low Maintenance Girl's Best Friend

Updated: Sep 18, 2022

Mascara can be messy and tricky at the best of times (hello clumps, smudges and spider lashes) and while falsies or extensions are always an option, they too require a lot of patience and maintenance. Enter: The Lash Lift.

What is essentially a perm for your natural lashes, a lash lift is a relatively low maintenance treatment that lifts, curls and separates the lashes long term (up to 10 weeks depending on your growth cycle).

The Process

As with any Self Love Lounge treatment, our lash lift starts with a thorough consultation where we'll chat about your natural lashes, your expectations and the overall process. Based on your answers and the length of your lashes, we select a silicone rod to suit.

Once the eye area is cleansed of any oils or makeup, a gentle adhesive is applied to the chosen silicone rod which its then adhered to the eyelid right at the lash line. The natural lashes are then curled over the silicone rod, glued and gently separated before a lifting lotion is applied to allow the curl your therapist has created to mold around the rod, followed by a setting lotion to set that beautiful curl in place.

We like to add a little extra touch with the addition of lash tint to really maximize the effect of the lash lift and give the look of mascara.

You can expect your appointment to take roughly 45 minutes.

How To Get The Most Out of Your Lash Lift

You can expect your lash lift to last anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle and how well you look after your lash lift.

To take the best care of and achieve a long-lasting lash lift keep the following in mind:

  • Avoid touching the lashes / rubbing your eyes following your lash lift

  • Keep your lashes dry for at least 48 hours (no swimming or face under the shower)

  • When showering, avoid shampoos and conditioners for at least 48 hours

  • Avoid steamy environments (showers, sauna, high intensity workouts)

  • Only use water based cleansers and be careful applying eye creams following your lash lift

  • ·Avoid oil based cosmetics on or around the eyes for at least 48 hours

  • Use gentle, oil free makeup remover

  • Ditch the lash curler

  • We recommend using a lash conditioning serum daily to stimulate growth, condition and strengthen the lashes (we love Elleeplex Lash Serum)

To maintain the depth of colour of your lashes, we recommend booking in for a lash tint 4-6 weeks following your lash lift.
